FORTINATE - FORTIGATE - Firmware Up-gradation Process

1. Download the Firmware (5.2.7) from Fortinet site. to local Hard disk
drive...
2. Upgrade will happen in 4 steps :
5.0.10 >>
5.0.11>>5.0.13>>5.2.7
3. Login to the specified Firewall..
4. Take the configuration backup by clicking "backup" button from
"System Configuration" under "System Information" tab.
5. After successful backup taken, click on Update button, select the
local disk and point the new Firmware downloaded.
6. After successful upgradation of secondary Firewall, it will automatically
reboot and after that primary will start upgradation.
7. when Primary will be rebooting, Secondary will take the load and
once Primary gets rebooted successfully, it will become primary again.
Verification Plan
===========
1. Before doing this activity connect the firewall with console and
also start pinging some of the important servers IP address from different Zone
from LAN segment to check their availability.
2. First secondary will be rebooted hence expected there will not be
any drops..
3. When primary will be rebooting it is expected to receive maximum 5/6
drops to transfer the load from primary to secondary.
4. Post successful upgradation there will be 5/6 drops to transfer the
load from secondary to primary again.
