CHECK POINT NAT:

NAT: Network Address Translation: Map the private ip address to public IP address or  MAP the public ip address to private ip address.


Two types of NAT:

Source NAT & Destination NAT.

Source NAT:

Source NAT: traffic generate from internal network (private network) to external network (public network). In Source NAT only source IP will translate into public ip address.


Destination NAT:

When the request translate destination IP address for connect with internal private network from public IP address.Only static

NAT can be used in Destination NAT.


HIDE NAT (in CISCO – we called PAT): 

Translate multiple private IP address or network with single public IP address. 
Means many to one translation.
User only the source NAT.
Cannot be used in the destination NAT.



What is advantage of NAT?
Save public IP to save cost
Security with hide internal network
Avoid routing
Publish server over internet.
Access internet from private IP address.
